In February 2021, Los Angeles was slowly waking up from the long quiet of the pandemic. One of the few joys of social life came from a small improv acting class tucked away in Laurel Canyon. Matt had recently joined and quickly became known for his high-energy performances. One evening, Tommi Aura, a new friend Matt had made in class, sauntered in with a beautiful new face. Her name was Miranda. After watching Matt bounce around the room like an over-caffeinated SNL cast member, she told him he was “so good,” assuming he was a professional improviser. They said a quick hello and went their separate ways, not knowing their paths would cross again just days later. That weekend Matt hosted a small gathering at his house. When he stepped outside, he was surprised to find Miranda in the courtyard. They picked up right where they’d left off, talking late into the night and discovering an easy connection. It was a cold February night, so Matt gave Miranda a jacket to wear home. Soon after, Matt asked her out to dinner at San Vicente Bungalows, where the conversation flowed effortlessly, music became a shared language, and the beginning of something special became unmistakably clear. A few days later Miranda returned Matt’s jacket. While chatting in the sunshine, she mentioned she had gone to church earlier up “Mooooholland.” Matt laughed and gently corrected her: “You mean Mulholland.” But the pronunciation was too good to lose. “Mooooholland” became “Booooholland,” followed by a cascade of extended-“oo” jokes that eventually produced the nickname that remains to this day: Booski. Like so many things in their relationship, it began with a small moment, a shared laugh, and a spark that kept growing. Since then, Miranda and Matt have traveled all over the world, but they feel most at home in the joyful, playful world they create together. No matter where they are, as long as they’re laughing, joking, and being a little silly with each other, they know they’re exactly where they’re meant to be.

Please join us in formal evening attire as we celebrate this special occasion. Tuxedos and black-tie attire are encouraged for gentlemen, while gowns, cocktail dresses, or other elegant formal attire are welcomed for ladies. We invite you to embrace a timeless and sophisticated style—think classic elegance, festive glamour, and a touch of celebration. We look forward to sharing an unforgettable evening filled with love, laughter, and dancing with our favorite people.

Dress Code

What is the dress code? Black Tie. Tuxedos are encouraged. Floor-length gowns, elegant cocktail dresses, and formal evening attire are welcomed. What time should I arrive? The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 PM. We recommend arriving 15-20 minutes early to allow time for seating. Is parking available? Valet parking will be available at The Maybourne Beverly Hills. We will have hosted valet but we recommend Uber, Lyft, or Private Car if you are planning on drinking. Can I bring a plus one? Please refer to your invitation and RSVP. Due to venue capacity, we are only able to accommodate the guests listed on each invitation. Are children welcome? While we love your little ones, our wedding celebration will be an adults-only event unless otherwise noted on your invitation. Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors? The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside on the roof deck. The reception will take place inside in the Ballroom. Additional details will be shared closer to the wedding date. What should I do if I have dietary restrictions? Please indicate any dietary restrictions when completing your RSVP, and we will do our best to accommodate them. Will there be an open bar? Absolutely and plenty of mocktails will also be available. Where should I stay? Please visit the Travel page for hotel recommendations and booking information. What is the RSVP deadline? Please submit your RSVP by September 1st. Can I take photos during the Ceremony? We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony and remain present with us in the moment. We promise to share professional photos afterward.
